What to wear while receiving spray tan;
1
This is totally up to you and whatever your prefer and are comfortable in! We have disposable thongs, disposable bras, and nipple stickers. You can wear a dark colored bathing suit, dark colored underwear, or go completely nude! My goal is to make you as comfortable as possible so you can receive the tan you truly want!
What to wear while you marinate;
2
CLOTHING: Wear loose, dark, breathable fabrics- think oversized and long sleeve tees and sweat pants.
Skip Socks & Bras: Avoid anything that could rub on your skin while your tan develops.
How long will your spray tan last;
3
Typically spray tans last between 5-10 days, depending on various factors such as your skin type & how well you maintain it! Moisturizer is your best friend and a key factor in maintaining your tan!
Is the color you see immediately after your session the final color;
4
Majority of sunless solutions contain bronzers. This is temporary color that gives a tanned appearance while the DHA develops, but it is not representative of the final result. The final color depends on what level of solution is used and how long it is left on before rinsing. Your tan will continue to develop over 24 hours.
Can you spray tan while pregnant;
5
Yes, you can spray tan while pregnant! Skin Sense uses pregnancy safe solutions with adequate ventilation. Pregnancy hormones can affect how your tan processes so please let us know so we can adjust your rinse time.
Book ALL other beauty services before;
6
Your spray tan appointment should be the last beauty service received. All wax services should be done no less than 48 hours before your spray tan. Mani/Pedi, massages, lashes, Botox, hair, and any other services that involve friction to the skin should take place no less than 24 hours before appt.
Proper way to exfoliate;
7
A loofa is not an exfoliating tool. Instead, try a exfoliating glove or mitt paired with a spray tan safe body wash. If the products you’re prepping with are not considered spray tan safe, they will leave a residue on the skin creating a barrier and result in uneven development.
What is DHA and how does it work;
8
DHA, or dihydroxyactone, is the primary active ingredient in spray tan and self-tanning products. It’s a simple carbohydrate sourced from plants like sugar beets and sugar cane, as well as from glycerin fermentation. DHA has a chemical reaction with the amino acids in dead skin cells, causing the skin to temporarily darken & appear tan. The tan typically develops in 2-6 hours & peaks in 24 hours. DHA is FDA approved for external use but should not be inhaled or applied to mucous membranes.
